The Aleksander Savchuk Cancer Charity was thrilled to honour Dr Jacques Pouysségur with the Aleksandr Savchuk Prize at the 16ème Biennale Monégasque de Cancérologie. The ceremony was held in the esteemed presence of His Serene Highness Prince Albert II and Professor Patrick Rampal, President of the Monaco Scientific Center.
Dr Pouysségur’s unparalleled contributions to cancer research, from groundbreaking insights into cell proliferation and metabolism to pioneering work on tumour hypoxia and nutritional stress, have paved new paths in our understanding and treatment of cancer. Through innovative use of genetic tools like Zinc Finger Nucleases & CRISPR-Cas9, Dr. Pouysségur’s research group identified numerous anti-cancer targets, offering new hope for therapeutic development.
